Serving the Kona area with professional, intuitive, mindful massage.
MY STORY
Hi, I'm Lindsay Johnson. I'm frequently asked what brought me to Hawai'i and why I chose massage therapy. Here's my story....
I grew up in a tiny town in Montana, far from the ocean and surrounded by the Rocky Mountains. After graduating high school in 2015, I moved to Hilo to pursue a degree in Marine Science, driven by a deep desire to experience life in the tropics and be close to the sea.
By the time I graduated college in 2019, my interests had shifted toward Environmental Science—specifically Sustainable Agriculture. I moved to Kona and started working on a farm, growing microgreens in a greenhouse and delivering produce from local farmers to restaurants and CSA box subscribers throughout West Hawaii. For a few months, I also lived on an off-grid permaculture farm, which taught me even more about sustainable living.
At 21, I didn’t fully understand—or value—the importance of taking care of my health. I was doing manual labor and living in less-than-optimal conditions, and my well-being started to suffer. I wasn’t eating enough, resting properly, or tending to my physical and mental health. Over time, I developed pain, nutrient deficiencies, and struggled with anxiety and depression.
One night, I came across the documentary Heal, which explores the connection between physical and mental health. It was inspiring and eye-opening—and it lit a fire in me to make a change.
The next morning, on my usual drive to work, something I’d driven past for months suddenly stood out: a massage school.
Not long after, I left the farm and enrolled at Aloha Massage Academy in Kainaliu to begin a new path in the wellness world. That year-long program was truly transformational—my body and mind felt better than they had in a long time, and I was in awe of everything I was learning. I became a Licensed Massage Therapist in the summer of 2021.
Since then, I’ve gained hundreds of hours of hands-on experience, continually expanding my skills, techniques, and tools. I love working with clients to help them release tension and stress and reconnect with a pain-free, balanced state of being.
Whether you’re looking for deep tissue work to tackle stubborn knots, a relaxing Swedish or Lomi Lomi massage to unwind from daily stress, or a blend of both, I’d love to support you on your wellness journey.

Your comfort is my priority — open communication is always welcome, and you are encouraged to speak up if anything needs to be adjusted during your session. Proper draping is used at all times to ensure modesty and comfort. Only the area being worked on will be uncovered.
I expect clients to maintain respectful, appropriate behavior at all times. Any inappropriate conduct or language will result in the immediate termination of the session, and full payment will still be required. I reserve the right to refuse or discontinue services for any reason that compromises safety, professionalism, or ethical standards.
I follow all state licensing regulations and uphold the ethical code of conduct expected of licensed massage therapists in Hawaiʻi.
